About
Ghahrenam is a non-profit campaign comprised of volunteer psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, medical professionals, legal advisors, and human rights activists. Our mission is to support individuals who have been sexually assaulted , tortured or raped while under the custody of the regime during the Women-Life-Freedom uprising. We aim to help their families understand how to provide care and recovery for their loved ones, while also raising social awareness about sexual trauma and its lasting effects. Our experts work together to assist individuals who have experienced sexual torture during their arrests, detention and interrogation. Ghahrenam does not belong to any individual or group; rather, it belongs to all of you who choose to accompany us on this crucial movement to aid our Ghahrenams.
Ghahrenam executive team, consisting of psychologists, civil activists, medical and legal experts and information technology professionals are in charge of content creation aligned with the campaign goals. They also handle the verification and approval of volunteer experts willing to collaborate with the campaign.
You too can join this movement and discuss the issue with friends, acquaintances and family members, fostering a discourse in society. These conversations are key to empowering individuals who have suffered trauma to start their healing journey in a safe and compassionate environment. Our goal is to foster an intellectual and social space free from prejudice and full of human solidarity, both for current survivors and future generations. It is essential to remember that these conversations remain respectful and non-invasive, especially when addressing families who may have distanced themselves from their loved ones. A sensitive, non-judgmental approach will help create the supportive discourse that is needed. We hope for a future where no one remains anonymous in their suffering—where every name is uplifted, and no individual is forced into silence through oppression and violence. Together, we can stand against tyranny and work towards a society rooted in empathy, healing, and freedom.

Our Mission
The mission of Ghahrenam is to provide psychological and legal support to individuals who have been sexually tortured, assaulted, or raped while detained during the Women-Life-Freedom movement by agents of the Islamic government.
Our mission extends beyond supporting individuals. We aim to address the societal and mental health effects of sexual violence, fostering a more compassionate and informed community. By educating the public and advocating for systemic change, we seek to prevent sexual violence and create a culture that values justice and healing.
These individuals have suffered extreme trauma, both during their detention and, tragically, after their release, as many have been ostracised by their families due to the abuse they endured. In addition to helping these individuals recover, we also provide support to their families, who often experience secondary trauma as a result of what happened to their loved ones.

Our Vision
Ghahrenam envisions a world free from sexual violence, with a focus on raising awareness about the profound impact of sexual torture, assault, and rape on survivors, their families and society as a whole. We stand with those who have endured such atrocities, particularly during the Woman-Life-Freedom movement, and are committed to provide psychological and legal support to help them heal.
Ultimately, our vision is to create a world where sexual violence is no longer used as a tool of oppression, and where survivors and their communities can recover with dignity and support.
